Website and Social Media Officer

Base Location: Perth, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness

Salary: £30,600 - £46,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

You will

- Manage and shape a customer-centric digital experience: Lead on the content management of SSEN Transmission’s website by building pages, shaping layouts, maintaining site quality, and ensuring all content is accurate, accessible and engaging. 

- Plan, create and shape content: Creating thumb-stopping content. Work with project teams to turn complex topics into clear digital content across web and social media. This includes ghostwriting, interviewing subject matter experts, and tailoring messages to suit different audiences and channels. 

- Facilitate workshops and support teams: Set up and run workshops to help teams plan content, align on messaging, and identify the best digital formats for their needs. 

- Develop digital strategies and insights: Support the Website and Social Media Manager in evolving our digital approach using best practice, audience research and performance data, delivering reports and dashboards to help inform decisions. 

- Build strong relationships across the business: Engage with colleagues across SSEN Transmission and SSE to understand priorities, gather input, and collaborate on delivering impactful digital communications.

You have

- Website and content expertise: Proven experience managing website content using modern CMS platforms (ideally Optimizely), with a strong understanding of digital user experience principles and how to apply them. 

- Strong editorial and storytelling skills: Confident in writing and ghostwriting for different audiences, with the ability to simplify complex topics and create clear, engaging digital content. 

- Workshop facilitation and collaboration: Able to lead workshops to gather input, align teams, and co-create effective content plans that meet both user needs and business goals. 

- Digital fluency and adaptability: A natural social media user who understands how different platforms work, keeps up with trends, and knows how to adapt and tailor content across digital channels to engage a range of audiences effectively. 

- Sector awareness and quick learning: Ideally experienced in the energy sector or another regulated, high-profile environment or able to get up to speed quickly with a genuine interest in energy transition and infrastructure.

Note:

- You will be required to spend 50% of your working time in the office.

- You will be required to travel to other SSE offices and project sites to capture content.

- This role is will primarily be focused on creating and editing website content.
