Our Arborist teams help to ensure that during bad weather, trees do not fall on power lines. Working with highly skilled teams, they clear trees and vegetation in proximity to our overhead transmission and distribution network, ultimately keeping the lights on for our customers.
We're growing our team and looking for people who love being outdoors and have experience climbing or working at height. If you have previous experience in tree cutting, forestry or arboriculture, we want to hear from you!
Base Location: Reading and Slough
This role is mobile and predominantly field based, and we require your base 'home' location to be within commuting distance of our Depots listed above.
Salary: £34,749- 40,939 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family:
- 37 hour working week.
- Up to £4,442 for overtime payments & up to £3,820 for standby payments, giving you a potential of £8,262 extra per year (subject to qualifications)
- Full PPE and tools required for the position.
- Access to a company vehicle.
- if based in Slough/London this will also have a London allowance of £2.7K.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time
As a Utility Arboriculture Surveyor, you will be responsible for surveying the overhead power line network, identifying vegetation encroachments, and designing tree cutting solutions that remove the vegetation safely, effectively and in line with company procedures.
This may include ENATS 43-08 maintenance, ETR132 resilience work and general enquiries.
Roles & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Comprehensive vegetation encroachment surveys of our overhead network.
- Accurate reporting and documentation of findings.
- Preparation of key documents for work teams to carry out set tasks.
- Consent organisation and negotiation with 3rd parties.
What do I need?
We're looking for well organised, highly skilled individuals who have a keen eye for detail and are looking to make a difference.
Ideally you will be safety driven, have a high level of self-organisation and be generally proactive in your approach.
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Utility arboriculture knowledge and experience, including UA5.1/5.2
- Excellent personal organisation and communication skills.
- IT literacy not limited to the Office 365 suite of applications.
- Full, clean, manual driving license.
