About the role
Base Location: Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness or Glasgow
Salary: £47,600 - £58,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
The Technical Standards Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Support the wider Policy and Standards team with technical authoring and technical communications expertise, handling the review, update, checking, correction and creation of specifications and other technical documents for SSEN Transmission.
- Support Principal Engineers in management of technical queries, deviation requests, fault management etc and sign-posting stakeholders to correct information or contacts, ensuring full and satisfactory responses provided.
- Assist with management of specifications repository, changes, process improvements, innovations, and work with the team to help collectively achieve overall objectives and business plan.
- Support management, administration and engagement of professional services and external resource engagement requests, e.g. ENA, CIGRE, BS, IEEE.
- Ensure associated workflow, information systems and trackers are updated providing evidence of compliance and ensuring excellent maintenance and quality of management information.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Accomplished Technical Author with good understanding of document control and drafting requirements.
- Ability to problem solve, plan, programme and manage multiple document reviews and processes simultaneously and be able to implement engineering strategy and be motivated and driven to succeed.
- Good understanding of workflow and approvals processes and creation, maintenance of Management Information and dashboard reporting.
- Ability to communicate effectively and to prepare clear and concise reports, including conclusions and clear recommendations.
