Base Location:  This is a site-based role, and you will be required on site 5 days per week. The project is based on Skye.

Salary: £43,704 - £51,484 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | On Site presence required 5 days a week in Skye

The role

SSEN Transmission has an exciting opportunity for a Site Supervisor who brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach to the construction and commissioning of major transmission underground cabling projects. You’ll play an important part in delivering the Skye 132kV Reinforcement Project and helping us create a safe, reliable network for the communities we serve.

You will

  • Build strong working relationships on site as you represent the business throughout the construction phase, ensuring suppliers deliver work safely, responsibly and in line with contractual requirements and SSEN policies.
  • Support a positive working environment by modelling SSEN Safety Management Systems and contributing to a culture where people feel safe and empowered to speak up.
  • Help maintain our commitment to high standards by carefully reviewing completed works for payment and supporting the fair and clear management of compensation events.
  • Contribute your insights early in the lifecycle of projects, typically becoming involved before Gate 3 of the LCP process.
  • Be a consistent and supportive presence on site, working with colleagues, contractors and community partners to ensure the project progresses smoothly.

The Site Supervisor will be required to be onsite 5 days a week. Accommodation and subsistence costs provided.

You have

  • A solid understanding of engineering and construction principles, along with familiarity with safety and CDM regulations, and a desire to apply them in a considerate and practical way.
  • Experience in site supervision or construction at duty‑holder level within complex utility or infrastructure environments. Knowledge of construction access works would be an added advantage.
  • Confidence working with project plans, monitoring progress and quality, and helping teams stay aligned with agreed goals and inspection standards.
  • Comfort using digital tools such as Microsoft Office and an openness to learning new systems that support effective project delivery.
  • Clear and collaborative communication skills, enabling you to build trust, share updates constructively and represent the project positively both inside and outside the organisation.
