Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in our Dublin office 

Salary Range: €80,000 - €90,000 + 10% performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role:

As Senior Communications Manager (ECS) you’ll be responsible for the development and implementation of an integrated programme of communications, that contributes to the delivery of SSE Energy Customer Solutions (ECS) business objectives across the island of Ireland.  

You’ll join the SSE Airtricity Leadership Team, acting as a trusted advisor shaping communications strategies that directly support Airtricity’s retail, customer and reputation objectives across Ireland and Northern Ireland. You will also be responsible for proactive and reactive media engagement, including managing day-to-day press office operations, building and maintaining relationships with key media contacts, and crisis communications. 

In this role you’ll work closely with colleagues in the wider Corporate Affairs, Regulation and Strategy (CARS) team in Ireland to ensure coordination of policy, public affairs and regulation activities that support the retail business’ commercial and strategic objectives. 

You will 

- Lead day to day media operations for SSE Airtricity, ensuring timely, accurate and well governed responses, including press releases and owned‑channel amplification

- Identify and deliver thought leadership aligned to business strategy, policy context and commercial priorities

- Act as a trusted communications adviser to senior leaders, providing clear, evidence‑based counsel

- Develop and deliver integrated communications strategies for key stakeholders across Ireland and Northern Ireland

- Support issues and crisis management, advising on media, political developments and reputational risk

You have 

- Strong media relations experience, with the ability to engage journalists and handle complex enquiries effectively; an existing media network is an advantage

- Proven capability to advise and influence senior leaders, working effectively across a matrix organisation

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into clear, compelling messages

- Experience delivering communications in large, multi‑business environments; energy or related sector experience is an advantage

- Calm, resilient and highly collaborative, with the ability to perform under pressure while maintaining high standards
