Base Location: Perth

Salary: £54,952 - £64,738 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time

We have a fantastic opportunity for a SCADA System Development Engineer to join our growing commissioning technician team. The role will report to our commissioning manager within the transmission control centre, to help support our Net Zero Pathway to 2030.

You will 

  • Lead the integration of emerging transmission technologies into SCADA systems, including symbol development and standardisation of operational menus to support efficient switching.
  • Chair monthly development meetings to prioritise operational issues and drive continuous improvement across SCADA functionality based on stakeholder feedback.
  • Manage key SCADA components such as engineering tables, operational overview displays, and the ICCP link to NESO, ensuring system accuracy and reliability.
  • Oversee data cleansing of legacy and redundant information within the transmission system to maintain data integrity and operational efficiency.
  • Deliver comprehensive training on system development processes to commissioning technicians, fostering knowledge sharing and technical capability across the team.

 

You need

  • A strong understanding of the SCADA commissioning technician role and possess a relevant background in electrical power system operation. Previous experience working in a control room environment is desirable. 
  • A minimum of an HNC in electrical engineering or working towards your HNC. Relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate complex issues effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders. 
  • You will be a team player and work well in a knowledge sharing culture. 
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work to achieve results and thrive under pressure.
