Reinstator

In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for reinstating SSE excavations to Code of Practice and reduce our contractor expenditure.

You'll work as part of a team, reinstating excavations in highways and private sites which are necessary to maintain our distribution network, ensuring good team communication and that safe working practices are adhered to at all times.

Base Location: Perth

Salary: £30,684 - £36,666 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

Join our Cabling team in Perth as a Reinstator and play a key role in delivering essential work across our electricity network.

You will

  • Carry out hands-on reinstatement of SSE excavations in line with Code of Practice, helping to reduce contractor expenditure.
  • Work as part of a team to reinstate excavations across highways and private sites, always ensuring effective communication and safe working practices.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions to strict timescales, ensuring all work complies with regulations and delivering excellent customer service during reactive maintenance.
  • Undertake physically demanding reinstatement work across highways and private land.
  • Work closely with your manager and support additional ad hoc projects as required.

You have

  • Experience with Reinstating techniques including Tarmac and kerbing.
  • Proven ability to lead a team.
  • Experience of working on public highways involving setting up and taking down temporary traffic signals to the code of practice and working alongside hotbox, concrete, and grab lorries.
  • A full UK diving licence.
  • An HGV Licence and experience of driving a Hotbox or Grab/HIAB lorry is preferred.
