Salary: £55,200 - £83,000 + car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager to join the SSEN Transmission Capital Delivery team and lead the delivery stage of large complex electricity transmission construction projects to supports Scotland’s Net Zero ambitions within our Beauly to Peterhead Programme. Projects are of varying scale and complexity with typical project values ranging from £20m - £500m+. More information about these exciting projects can be found here. 

You will:  

- Lead and inspire the SSE team and manage multiple external contractors, to ensure project excellence is achieved and we deliver on our promises. 

- Manage the development and execution of large capital projects, ensure the safe delivery to programme, cost and the necessary quality. 

- Ensure the project adheres to our Safety Management Systems, best practices and the SSE Large Capital Projects (LCP) Governance processes. 

- Foster a culture of safety and collaboration, aligning with the SSE Safety Culture and our core leadership values, creating a space where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute. 

You have: 

- A strong project management, engineering or construction background and understanding of applicable health and safety regulations including CDM regulations 

- Excellent communication and empathetic leadership skills, with a proven track record in supporting teams and guiding them through the successful delivery of large projects. 

-Contractual management experience (NEC3 experience is preferable), with the ability to forecast and control costs as well as develop and manage integrated project programmes. 

- A valid driving licence and a willingness to travel to site 2-3 days a week during the construction phase, appreciating the importance of face-to-face connections when needed. 

- Experience managing large electricity transmission projects would be great but, experience in managing major construction projects from other industries, coupled with the desire and ability to learn quickly is equally valid.
