Whether your interests lie in project delivery, infrastructure, construction, asset management or stakeholder engagement, you'll develop the knowledge, skills and experience needed to build a successful career managing projects across SSE.
What is the role?
At SSE, project management plays a vital role in delivering major infrastructure investments, capital projects and operational improvements across our business helping deliver large-scale transmission projects, our project teams work with a wide range of stakeholders to turn ambitious plans into successful outcomes.
Our Project Management Summer Placement Programme is designed for individuals who want to develop professional project management expertise while making a real impact from day one.
What we're looking for
You'll be in at least second year of your undergraduate degree. If studying a Master’s you should be in your penultimate year and intending to return to university following the completion of your placement. The disciplines are: - Project Management, Construction Management, Civil, Business & Project Management, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering,
You'll likely be someone who:
- Enjoys planning, organising and coordinating activities to deliver successful outcomes.
- Has a genuine interest in project delivery, infrastructure, construction, asset management or business improvement.
- Is curious, adaptable and motivated to learn, develop new skills and take on new challenges.
- Works well with others, building positive relationships and bringing different perspectives together to achieve shared goals.
- Takes ownership, uses initiative and wants to make a meaningful contribution from day one.
