Whether your interests lie in project delivery, infrastructure, construction, asset management or stakeholder engagement, you'll develop the knowledge, skills and experience needed to build a successful career managing complex projects across SSE.

What is the role?

At SSE, project management plays a vital role in delivering major infrastructure investments, capital projects and operational improvements across our business. From supporting renewable energy assets to helping deliver large-scale transmission projects, our project teams work with a wide range of stakeholders to turn ambitious plans into successful outcomes.

Our Project Management Graduate Programme is designed for graduates who want to develop professional project management expertise while making a real impact from day one. Over two years, you'll gain hands-on experience across a range of projects and business areas, developing the technical, commercial and leadership skills needed for a long-term career in project management.

You'll undertake a series of structured placements, gaining exposure to a wide range of project environments, which may include:

- Offshore Delivery Projects

- Onshore Capital Delivery Projects

- Asset Management

- Renewable Energy Projects

- Project Planning and Coordination

- Stakeholder and Contractor Management

Alongside real project experience, you'll benefit from mentoring, structured development opportunities and support from experienced project professionals across SSE.

Following successful completion of the programme, you'll have the opportunity to progress into a permanent Assistant Project Manager role, helping to deliver projects that support SSE's operational, infrastructure and strategic objectives. Recent graduate destinations have included Assistant Project Manager roles within Asset Management, Offshore Delivery and Onshore Capital Delivery teams.

What we're looking for

You'll have a minimum of a 2:2 honours degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical), Business & Project Management, or another relevant discipline.

We're looking for graduates who are excited by the opportunity to develop project management expertise while delivering projects that make a real difference across SSE. You'll likely be someone who:
