The role

We're looking for a PPA Originator to join our growing commercial team and support the origination, structuring and execution of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) across both the UK & Ireland market and our International markets. This is an exciting opportunity to develop expertise across the full transaction lifecycle, from identifying new opportunities and building customer relationships through to deal execution and ongoing commercial management.

Working alongside experienced colleagues across trading, legal, risk, finance and operations, you'll play a key role in helping SSE Renewables deliver long-term renewable energy agreements that support the energy transition.

You will

  • Identify, research and engage prospective customers, helping to develop a strong pipeline of renewable energy opportunities and build lasting commercial relationships.
  • Analyse electricity markets, renewable energy trends, pricing dynamics and regulatory developments to identify new commercial opportunities and support customer discussions.
  • Support the structuring of Power Purchase Agreements, assessing pricing, contract terms, risk allocation and commercial value to develop attractive and deliverable solutions.
  • Coordinate due diligence and transaction activities, working closely with internal specialists to support approvals, negotiations and successful deal execution.
  • Support contract handovers and ongoing commercial matters, helping manage contractual changes, project developments and stakeholder relationships throughout the life of an agreement.

You have

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret commercial, financial and market information and translate it into practical insights.
  • A degree, or equivalent experience, in business, economics, finance, engineering, energy or a related discipline.
  • An interest in electricity markets, renewable energy and commercial transactions, with a desire to build a career in the energy sector.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, with the ability to build effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive and organised approach, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
