Salary: £50,100 - £75,100 + performance-related bonus and a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

This role will work within our ANM & Enabling Systems Pillar within OT. The role is responsible for the operational support, maintenance and resilience of Operational Technology (OT) systems supporting Control Room operations, ensuring resilient, high‑availability services and an effective response to faults and incidents. They will provide leadership in the development of OT Apprentices, Graduates and Technicians, building capability and succession within the team. The role also oversees capacity planning and controlled access to Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) environments across live and pre-production systems, ensuring appropriate governance and resource alignment. Acting as responsible person for the Central and local Active Network Management (ANM) and other key operational platforms, the role is accountable for ensuring system reliability, resilience and security, delivering and sustaining a target of 99.999% availability.

You will

  • Lead the support, security and resilience of critical operational technology systems, ensuring they remain safe, compliant and highly available.
  • Manage cyber security and vulnerability activities across operational systems, including patching, monitoring and reducing operational risk.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership for the support team, developing capability, managing resources and building skills for business-as-usual and incident response.
  • Oversee asset, engineering and technical governance across key control room systems, ensuring standards, controls and safe working practices are consistently applied.
  • Coordinate project and incident response governance, leading readiness, recovery planning and cross-team collaboration during operational or cyber incidents.

You have

  • Proven experience in Operational Technology, technical support or a related engineering environment, with the knowledge and judgment needed to operate effectively in a critical services role.
  • Strong experience supporting and maintaining Operational Technology systems, including ANM, SCADA, data historians, telemetry and communications platforms.
  • Good understanding of OT support, incident management and operational resilience, with experience working in high-availability live environments.
  • Experience managing OT cyber security activities, including patching, vulnerability remediation and operational risk reduction.
  • Strong stakeholder, resource planning and team development skills, with the ability to build capability, manage priorities and support operational delivery
