The role

SSE IT is looking for a highly self-motivated individual to fill the role of an Oracle EBS Functional Specialist. The successful applicant will be working as part of the Corporate Solutions Delivery and Support Group. This is a challenging role, and we are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and versatile individual to help us on our journey to the Cloud.

Reporting to the Oracle EBS Finance Team Leader you will provide user advice and guidance across Financial and Logistics modules as well as providing timely resolution of any incidents and problems that occur with SSE's business critical Harmony application, currently running on Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS) version 12.2.14, alongside our planning and forecasting applications, Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) and Oracle Demantra.

Involved in key deliverables, you will also be required to assist in the design, development, system testing, UAT and roll-out, of any software enhancements and additions to these Oracle EBS modules. You will be responsible for designing and developing small scale fixes and enhancement requests and managing delivery to agreed timescales using - where appropriate - an Agile, DevOps environment, as part of a team.

You will

- Have a flexible approach to work, providing support for day to day issues, new demand, and enhancement releases alongside the implementation of any regulatory and statutory requirements, security patches and software upgrades to our Financials modules - examples being, but not limited to, Inventory, Order Management (OM), and Procurement - as well as any required involvement in unit testing and support for User Acceptance and Regression testing.

- Work with key stakeholders to optimise the utilisation of Oracle Supply Chain Management modules (Inventory, Order Management, Shipping, Procurement), together with Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) and Oracle Demantra

- Provide your expertise to functional users, business analysts and technical developers. Advising on best practice for front-end functional use of Oracle EBS and advising on feasibility and best practice regarding functional development requests.

- Assist in the development and maintenance of team documentation, and assisting other team members with solutions design, the fixing of faults and test activities as appropriate.

- Use your excellent customer service skills to support our existing Oracle EBS configuration, customisations and extensions; responding to support calls raised, investigating root causes for errors and effectively managing Service Requests and Bugs with Oracle, as well as tracking fault progress against internal SLAs.

You have

- Oracle EBS functional analysis, design and development skills to a proven professional level with a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving coupled with the ability to share knowledge and drive improvements and innovation within the team, especially within the Inventory, Order Management and Procurement areas alongside Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) and Oracle Demantra.

- A conceptual understanding of Oracle databases and tables, and of the capabilities of SQL and preferably PL/SQL in the Oracle EBS environment, with an ability to write SQL queries to a level required for functional support and  development.

- Experience in using Agile and waterfall delivery methods, ideally using Azure DevOps (Boards, Repos) to release development or fixes to production.

- Knowledge and experience of concurrent process management, workflows and APIs alongside their uses, within Oracle EBS.

- A proactive and effective approach to prioritizing your own workload within demanding schedules, with a willingness to take ownership of problems or requests and the ability to work effectively in a pressurized environment.
