Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Offshore rotation 2 weeks on 2 weeks off
The role
Based at the Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm, and mobilising from Montrose Port, the Offshore Wind Balance of Plant (BOP) Technician will report to the SOV Manager and work from the Service Operations Vessel (SOV) on a rotational shift basis.
This is a key role responsible for supporting the safe and reliable operation of both above-sea and subsea structures, as well as associated plant and equipment. You’ll help reduce downtime, maintain compliance, and contribute to a strong safety-first culture across operations.
Depending on site requirements, this role may also require authorisation as an Approved Person (AP) under the Operational Safety Rules (OSR) and the Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR) to carry out specific activities safely and effectively.
You will
Conduct inspections of wind farm components and all Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment in line with OEM guidance to maintain compliance with statutory requirements. Perform planned maintenance and resolve defects in accordance with the site’s maintenance strategy.
Ensure the wind farm operates in compliance with all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) obligations. You’ll also support and coordinate safe, effective maintenance of BOP assets, including the oversight of contractors as required.
Use the Maximo Maintenance Management System to record planned maintenance activities, log defects, and manage spare parts inventory.
Carry out operational switching of the high-voltage (HV) network and apply the Operational Safety Rules (OSRs) as part of safe working practices.
Supervise and coordinate onsite contractor activities, ensuring adherence to safety and technical standards.
You Have
A recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Control & Instrumentation (C&I), or a related discipline.
Existing authorisation or a willingness to work towards authorisation under an Operational Safety Rules and Safe System of Work (SSOW) environment.
Capability or willingness to undertake responsibilities as an Approved Person (AP) under OSRs and Authorised Technician (AT) under WTSRs.
Knowledge of offshore wind farm operations and associated infrastructure (including BOP, Wind Turbine Generators (WTG), and Offshore Transmission Owners (OFTO)) is desirable.
A strong understanding of offshore working environments, including planning, logistics, and health, safety and environmental (SHE) risks. You’ll bring a proactive SHE mindset and work well as part of a collaborative, inclusive team.
