Salary: £66,100 - £99,100 + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

We are looking for a Lead Project Manager (LPM) to join our SSEN Transmission Delivery Team to deliver our Lewis Hub within our Pathway to 2030 Programme. Reporting into the Deputy Project Director, you will be responsible for the delivery of multiple civils and AC substation packages, including associated workstreams such as logistics, accommodation, and stakeholder engagement

The Lead Project Manager is a pivotal and senior role in our Delivery team, whereby the successful candidate will play an important part in enabling the energy transition and supporting the Scottish and UK Government's Net Zero ambitions. This will include managing a multi-disciplinary project team and framework supply chain partners under the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) framework.

Due to the location and scale of the project, there is a requirement for the Lead Project Manager to travel regularly to the Western Isles

You will

- Be accountable for the delivery of £500m+ civil, building, substation, Logistics and accommodation packages as part of the wider HVDC project, whilst managing a team of Project and Senior Project Managers and working closely with external delivery contractors and consultants. You will have demonstratable experience of operating and performing in a similar delivery environment.

- Work closely with the Transmission Management team to uphold the highest level of safety performance and ensure projects are refined, constructed and commissioned in accordance with regulatory requirements whilst championing SSEs Safety Golden Rules.

- Have full accountability for the NEC3 contract management of your packages, including interface management and change control, whilst providing strong commercial leadership to your project team.

- Build, develop and maintain productive and enduring relationships with contractors, a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and communities to support the sustainable delivery of the projects that you are responsible for.

- Provide regular site-based leadership throughout the delivery phase to drive progress and achieve SHEQ outcomes

You have

- Experience leading project teams to deliver large infrastructure projects of £100m+, successfully through the execution phase. Prior delivery of energy infrastructure projects preferred but not essential

- Strong NEC3 contract negotiation and administration experience and ability to lead on complex contractual matters.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) and an advanced understanding of project management systems and governance for the execution of large projects.

- An engineering, construction, or project management qualification / degree or equivalent experience. You will preferably hold a professional membership or registration, in Project Management or Engineering.

Experience in a construction project delivery environment, with demonstrable experience in  project execution to deliver safely, on time and within budget.
