The role

As Lead Design Engineer, you’ll be the technical authority for our onshore wind, solar and battery storage portfolio across Italy and Greece. You’ll lead engineering delivery from early development through construction and handover, ensuring projects are safe, robust, cost-effective and ready for long-term operation.

This is a senior role where you’ll shape design strategy, influence major investment decisions, and work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality renewable energy infrastructure that supports the transition to net zero.

You will

• Lead the engineering delivery of onshore wind, solar PV and battery energy storage projects from development through to commissioning and handover.
• Approve key technical designs, specifications and layouts, ensuring solutions are safe, compliant, efficient and cost-effective.
• Provide technical input into supplier and contractor tenders, supporting evaluations and helping select the best overall solutions.
• Manage and guide external engineering consultants and contractors, ensuring quality, consistency and performance across the portfolio.
• Identify and manage technical, cost and schedule risksand a strong safety-by-design culture.
• Drive value engineering by identifying opportunities for design optimisation, innovation and continuous improvement across the project portfolio.

You have

• A degree (or equivalent experience) in electrical, civil, mechanical or energy engineering.
• Significant and proven experience designing and delivering renewable energy projects (onshore wind, solar and/or battery storage), including medium/high-voltage systems and grid connections.
• Strong technical judgement with experience reviewing and approving engineering studies, drawings and specifications.
• Commercial awareness, including understanding of project budgets, cost control and value engineering.
• The ability to lead and influence multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, bringing inclusive thinking and collaborative ways of working.

Fluency in English is essential. Experience working in Greece and/or Italy and additional language skills (Spanish or Greek) would be advantageous.
