The role
We a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Cost Analyst to join our team!
As a Lead Cost Analyst you will be managing a team of Cost Analyst’s and working closely with Project Manager’s.
We are looking for a great people manager with a proven track record of leading, coaching and motivating teams.
You will
Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead, develop and grow the skills and capability of the Cost Analysts through rigorous implementation of performance management. Drive success within the team by ensuring that procedures are followed.
Identifying improvements to the operational job closure process in line with our regulatory requirements. Working closely with the Delivery Project Manager’s to investigate refund and overspend reasons and anomalies. Ensure we adhere to Ofgem guidelines whilst maximising gross profit.
The financial monitoring of a programme of Connections work, including successful financial management of projects.
Lead the financial function, establishing the appropriate project controls and reporting to support successful delivery through individual Projects Managers.
You have
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
Previous experience as a cost analyst and good business knowledge of how a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) business, or similar market operates, including an understanding of the financial operation and reporting.
Experience with governance and gateway requirements for project expenditure to enable management of projects to time and budget. You will use your financial knowledge to enable forecasting of income and expenditure on projects.
You will also have a relentless desire to find problems and resolve issues to drive a lean process.
Comfortable with Microsoft packages such as Excel. Knowledge of PROMIS and Harmony would be highly advantageous, however training will be provided.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential and the ability to comfortably deal with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external. Experience of managing a team would be beneficial but is not essential.
