The role
Join our dynamic team as a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor, ensuring safety and compliance across our European renewable energy projects. Enjoy career growth, international exposure, and contribute to a sustainable future.
Play an essential part in supporting SSE's European development and construction projects, ensuring consistent Safety, Health & Wellbeing (SHW) compliance. Your work will help protect people, assets, and the environment from harm. You will be responsible for maintaining project-specific SHW documentation, working directly with various stakeholders to apply our health and safety standards effectively. The role also includes sharing lessons from incident investigations and carrying out assurance audits. Engage with third-party agencies and develop the operational SHW team.
You will
Support SSE European projects and assets with SHW compliance and risk management.
Maintain and apply SHW documentation compatible with different European regions.
Engage with key stakeholders including Regulatory Authorities and Contractors.
Conduct assurance audits and support incident management processes.
Handle incident reports and H&S indicators promptly, preparing reports and sharing lessons learned.
You have
To excel in this role, we expect you to have:
Experience managing Safety, Health & Wellbeing risks in the renewable industry or similar sectors.
Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety Management essential with relevant engineering or construction experience preferred.
Proven knowledge of European Health & Safety Regulations and SHW Management Systems ideally in Spain, France, Italy and/or Greece
Fluency in English and Spanish is essential with additional European languages desirable.
Proficiency in risk assessment and incident investigation techniques with ability to produce and manage comprehensive SHW-related documentation.
This role will require regular travel with up to 50% of time spent at site and projects throughout development, construction and operation stages to deliver SSE Renewables European portfolio across Spain and Southern Europe.
