The role

The Group Transformation Office is driving SSE’s future ambitions by embedding a culture of continuous improvement and high performance across the organisation. We are seeking a senior leader to support and guide the rollout of Operational Excellence across the SSE Group.

Reporting to the Chief Transformation Officer, this role will design, deliver, and govern a programme that enhances efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainable change. You will champion innovation, agility, and high performance while ensuring the programme delivers measurable value and aligns with SSE’s strategic goals.

You will

- Collaborate with the Chief Transformation Officer and senior stakeholders to define the vision, strategy, and annual roadmap for the Operational Excellence programme across SSE.

- Support the implementation of inclusive processes for programme management, including governance forums, financial oversight, and benefit realisation.

- Pro-actively seek out opportunities to deliver additional value, including areas of high strategic importance and tangible commercial value. Galvanise colleagues and peers around value creation and benefits realisation.

- Mentor and coach transformation leaders and change agents, developing skills and confidence at all levels.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in for Operational Excellence initiatives.

You have

- Experience in management or coordination of project and programme governance frameworks and standards.

- A deep understanding of transformation and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, Operational Excellence or equivalent) and their application in complex organisations.

- Previous experience in overseeing budgets, allocating resources and cost management for transformation programmes.

- Ability to collaborate, inspire and challenge learners to apply principles and tools taught quickly and effectively.

- Previous experience in a large complex organisation tracking and reporting on KPIs, including supporting training rollout, business unit engagement, value delivered, and satisfaction scores.
