The role

As an Environmental Advisor, you'll play a key role in ensuring our renewable energy projects across Spain meet environmental legislation and sustainability requirements throughout the development, construction and operational phases. Working closely with multidisciplinary project teams, you'll provide environmental expertise, manage compliance obligations, coordinate specialist consultants and build strong relationships with regulators and stakeholders to help deliver projects responsibly.

You will

  • Provide environmental advice across renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with Spanish and European environmental legislation, permitting requirements and internal standards throughout development, construction and operation.
  • Lead and support environmental due diligence, oversee Environmental Impact Assessments and Environmental Management Plans, and identify environmental risks, constraints and mitigation measures to support successful project delivery.
  • Manage environmental consultants and contractors, ensuring high-quality environmental assessments, monitoring, reporting and compliance with project commitments and permit conditions.
  • Build effective relationships with environmental regulators, statutory bodies and external stakeholders, responding to environmental queries, reports and claims while maintaining a collaborative approach.
  • Support project teams by developing environmental specifications for contractors, contributing to procurement documentation and promoting environmental best practice across projects.

You have

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Geography or a related discipline, with strong knowledge of environmental legislation, environmental impact assessment and environmental monitoring.
  • Experience working on infrastructure or renewable energy projects, with a strong understanding of environmental compliance throughout project development, construction and operational phases.
  • Knowledge of Spanish and European environmental legislation, permitting processes and environmental regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience coordinating environmental consultants, managing environmental monitoring and reporting, and working with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders.
  • Fluent English language skills, a valid driving licence and the flexibility to travel throughout Spain.

This role requires a Full EU driving license and willingness to travel within Spain and Southern Europe as and when required by projects.
