We have a great opportunity for an Electrical Asset Inspector to join our team!
In this role, you’ll carry out routine safety and condition inspections across our electrical distribution system, with a focus on equipment in our 11kV–33kV primary substations.
Alongside primary substation inspections, you’ll also be involved in battery testing and replacement, underground LV box inspections, gauge checks, and a range of other asset sampling activities.
You’ll need to travel within the region depending on your allocated work area, and a company vehicle will be provided to support this.
You will:
- Carry out detailed inspections of primary substations and the LV underground network using non-intrusive diagnostic methods.
- Gather and record accurate information to make sure all work meets health and safety requirements and company procedures.
- Spot asset defects and raise them through the right channels, always keeping safety as the top priority.
- Complete routine battery testing and maintenance, and check that tools and substation equipment are safe to use and compliant.
- Take oil samples from plant to help assess asset condition and identify issues such as contamination or degradation.
You have:
- Hold LV authorisations, or be actively working towards them.
- Have experience working with substation assets and the ability to assess their condition.
- Be familiar with COSHH regulations and how they apply in practice.
- Understand distribution inspection procedures and the relevant statutory requirements.
- Have a good working knowledge of DNO operations, along with the Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations.
