About the Role
Base Location: Bilbao - Spain

What is the Role?
As a Control Systems Engineer at SSE Renewables, you'll lead SCADA design and telecommunication infrastructure for Onshore Renewable projects in Southern Europe. You'll ensure system integration from start to finish, drive value, innovation, and implement cost-saving technologies for better asset performance.
Some of your other main accountabilities will include:
Collaborating with Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical engineers to coordinate work.
Creating control systems and telecom network specifications and aiding in supplier selection.
Checking if supplier documents meet SSE's technical standards.
Participating in Factory and Site Acceptance Tests for control and telecom equipment.
Designing PLC control systems, SCADA platforms, and related network structures.
This role will require international travel to our sites located in France, Spain, Italy, or Greece as well as the UK.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
Energy and international grid code knowledge, with preference for wind turbine SCADA experience.
Skilled in PLC system design using common programming languages.
Familiar with communication protocols such as Modbus and Ethernet.
Knowledgeable in OT Cyber Security, particularly IEC62443 standards.
Experience in developing fibre optic and microwave satellite telecom systems.
Innovative, adaptable, with strong communication skills in English and Spanish for diverse stakeholder engagement.
