Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations :Glasgow

Salary: £51,600 - £77,400 + car /car allowance  + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

We are seeking a Contract Manager to join the Procurement & Commercial team, supporting SSE Renewables in securing and delivering a pipeline of offshore wind projects. The ideal candidate will have pre and post-contract experience of managing high-value agreements, preferably within the Renewables offshore wind sector or a similar industry.

As a Contract Manager, you will support the development of shaping strategic procurement decisions and contribute towards commercial frameworks that drive SSE’s ambitious initiatives. You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, assist in the delivery of complex contracts and supplier relationships, and ensure alignment with project goals and corporate objectives

You will

  • Implement procurement strategies for renewable projects, ensuring they align with SSE’s goals.
  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers, supporting collaboration and accountability and monitor supplier performance and raise any concerns as needed.
  • Lead contract negotiations and day-to-day management, ensuring compliance and risk awareness as well as support the identification of procurement and commercial risks, ensuring activities follow governance requirements.
  • Work alongside internal teams and external partners to support procurement processes and ensure alignment with project goal and help ensure procurement activities meet SSE’s standards for integrity and compliance.
  • Provide guidance to project teams on procurement and commercial tasks, helping to address challenges and contribute to successful outcomes as well as contribute to identifying cost-saving opportunities within procurement and commercial activities.

You have

  • Familiarity with renewable markets, including development, construction, and support contracts, as well as an understanding of the commodities and services used in business operations. Ability to assist with early-stage project business cases and support contract administration through final account delivery.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Procurement, or a related field, or equivalent direct entry into a recognised professional body is beneficial but not essential
  •  Robust procurement and commercial management experience, assisting with supplier coordination, contract administration, and subcontractor management. Awareness of supplier vetting, development, and management processes.
  • Experience with standard forms of contracts such as NEC options A, C and E. Familiarity with Logic is desirable.
  • Experience with drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and supporting cost and budget tracking
