Salary: £43,704 - £51,484 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

The Auxiliary Services Technician is crucial for maintaining the operational reliability of SSEN Transmission's high-voltage network. This hands-on role involves the inspection, maintenance, and repair of all essential supporting systems within our substations, such as DC battery, AC distribution boards, and standby generators.

You will

  • Inspect and maintain Transmission substation auxiliary services such as Standby generator sets, 110v/48v battery systems, Low voltage switchgear and switchboards.
  • Work closely with Substation Maintenance teams building strong working relationship to assist Operations and Maintenance Management in coordinating and delivering all aspects of inspection, repairs and maintenance activities within the specific discipline.
  • Interpret and analyse various forms of inspection data from both internal and external sources, taking ownership and management for remediation, rectification and or replacement of key components to ensure the ongoing safe and efficient operation of the Transmission network.
  • Provide accurate recording of completed work done also identification and escalation of developing and emergent trends in asset defects and failures.

You have

  • Strong mechanical/electrical experience and problem-solving skills within a mechanical or electrical environment.
  • Mechanical qualification such as HGV mechanic, Standby Generator Technician or equivalent. Additional electrical qualifications or knowledge would also be an advantage.
  • The ability to coach and mentor less experienced colleagues.
  • The ability to supervise non-routine and complex tasks
