Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office - Inverness, Aberdeen or Perth

Salary: £43,704 – £51,484 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

We’re looking for a Technical and Street Works Analyst to lead our street works performance and compliance activities, ensure high‑quality use of Symology across SSEN Transmission, and manage a small team delivering essential technical and administrative support. This is a key role that blends regulatory leadership, process improvement, people management and operational delivery.

You will

  • Oversee the quality, training and compliance of Scottish Road Works Register (SRWR)/Symology, carrying out audits, providing guidance and ensuring legislative compliance.
  • Monitor street works performance, produce KPI reports and work with teams across the business to resolve issues and drive improvements.
  • Represent SSEN Transmission with external stakeholders including the Scottish Road Works Commissioner, Local Authorities and national utility groups.
  • Lead and develop a small team of Technical Coordinators and Administrators, ensuring efficient workload management and strong operational delivery.
  • Support the Engineering Leadership Team by coordinating actions, contributing to senior meetings and helping drive broader operational and cultural improvements.

You have

  • Experience using SRWR/Symology or similar systems, with strong knowledge of street works requirements and associated legislation.
  • Proven experience leading or managing a team, with confidence in coaching, performance management and supporting people through change.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, chair meetings and present information clearly.
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to prioritise, analyse issues and implement improvements.
  • Experience working within an engineering or project‑delivery environment, with familiarity in governance processes, meeting management and utility searches.
