Base Location: This is a site-based role, and you will be required on site 5-days per week. The project is based between Stonehaven and Dundee.
Salary: £42,600 - £64,000 + car/car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The Role
The Site Construction Manager will be crucial in managing the project, involving the construction of a new build overhead line route, thereby ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, environmental and quality standards. The role is initially based in the east of Scotland, with a site office in Kirriemuir, where you will primarily be based during the project.
You’ll be a trusted representative of SSEN Transmission on-site, building strong relationships and fostering a collaborative culture. The project is a key part of our commitment to delivering a Network for Net Zero.
You will:
Represent SSEN Transmission on-site as a key point of contact, supporting the construction and wiring of new transmission overhead line towers, access routes, and civil works.
Ensure the project meets all statutory, legal, health and safety, CDM, quality, and stakeholder requirements.
Work closely with contractors and SSEN teams to deliver the programme safely and efficiently, while nurturing a positive and inclusive site culture.
Provide clear and consistent reporting to the Project Manager, ensuring contractors deliver detailed weekly updates on safety, quality, and testing.
Build strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and the local community, acting as a visible leader and champion for safety and collaboration.
You have:
Experience working on-site in the construction and commissioning of transmission overhead lines or similar large infrastructure projects, with a focus on quality, safety, and timely delivery.
Strong engineering and construction knowledge, including CDM regulations, and experience managing multiple contractors/subcontractors.
A confident and inclusive leadership style, with excellent planning, communication, and conflict resolution skills. You will be capable of challenging others, resolving conflicts, and planning site activities with professionalism and clarity.
HND in engineering or construction management (or equivalent), and SMSTS 5-day site management qualification (or equivalent).
You’re comfortable using digital tools (Word, Excel, ACC/BIM etc.) to support your work. Also, a familiarity with NEC contracts and experience acting as NEC Supervisor.
A full driving licence and willingness to be site-based five days a week during the construction phase.
