Senior Group Strategy Manager

Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in our London office.

Salary: £70,000 - £100,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity to join SSE's Group Strategy team at a pivotal time in the energy transition. Led by our Chief Strategy Officer and reporting directly to SSE's CEO, the team plays a central role in helping shape the future of SSE and the communities we serve.

As a Senior Group Strategy Manager, you'll work alongside senior leaders from across the business to explore complex challenges, identify opportunities for sustainable growth and help guide long-term decision-making. Bringing together strategic thinking, commercial insight and a collaborative approach, you'll help shape recommendations that support SSE's net zero ambitions while ensuring safety, responsibility and sustainable value creation remain at the heart of everything we do.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to some of SSE's most important strategic priorities, building meaningful relationships across the organisation and helping create a cleaner, more secure energy future for generations to come.

You will

• Collaborate with leaders and teams across SSE to deliver strategic projects that support our long-term ambitions, business priorities and sustainable growth.
• Explore and evaluate investment opportunities, emerging technologies, partnerships and new markets, helping SSE make informed and responsible decisions.
• Build trusted relationships across the organisation, bringing insight, curiosity and different perspectives to support thoughtful decision-making.
• Communicate complex information in a clear and engaging way, helping senior and Executive stakeholders navigate choices and opportunities with confidence.
• Support, mentor and develop colleagues, contributing to an inclusive, psychologically safe and high-performing team culture where everyone can thrive.

You have

• Experience leading complex strategy, corporate development, consulting, investment or commercial projects with real business impact, gained in a top tier consulting firm or equivalent. 
• The ability to combine analytical thinking with commercial awareness, bringing clarity, structure and confidence to complex situations.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication and engagement skills, with experience working with senior stakeholders and building trust across different groups.
• A collaborative, inclusive and empowering approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting the growth and development of others.
• An interest in the energy transition and experience within energy, infrastructure, utilities or other large-scale, investment-led sectors.
