Over the next decade, we are poised to deliver the largest investment package Scotland’s electricity system has ever seen, with a projected investment programme exceeding £20bn. This pivotal role is central to ensuring that our ambitious capital investment programme is delivered efficiently, with robust financial and strategic support to project teams.

As the Senior Analyst – Financial Planning and Analysis, you will support Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) activities within the Offshore Finance team in our Transmission business at a critical time of growth in the industry to aid net zero targets, reporting to the Senior FP&A Manager.

      You will:

      • Analyse and review month end and year to date results as well as long-term forecasts for Offshore capital projects, working with the wider project teams to understand variances and ensure that forecasts align with SSE and SSEN Transmission’s broader strategy.
      • Play a leading role in the monthly cash flow forecast preparation and reporting for Offshore capital projects, working with the wider project teams and Treasury to ensure that cash flow forecasts are reliable, highlighting any risks and opportunities.
      • Provide support in the annual budget process, as well as at regular forecasting cycles, working with stakeholders to ensure we report an accurate, efficient and complete forecast.
      • Be responsible for providing meaningful and insightful analysis into monthly reporting packs.
      • Work closely with Finance Business Partners over a wide range of data provision and modelling as required for board papers, regulatory submissions, financing arrangements, hedge tracking/reporting and other ad-hoc requests from Project or Finance teams.
      • Establish and maintain a working relationship across the wider team to support information sharing to improve reporting.

      You will have:

      • Appropriate accounting qualification (ICAS, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW or CIPFA) in an equivalent role (part-qualified would be considered).
      • Understanding of financial systems and data management would be highly advantageous i.e. advanced Excel and PowerBI experience.
      • Financial modelling experience is essential.
      • Experience with capital projects, cash flow modelling and working with foreign currency is desirable.
      • Ability to work to tight timescales, under pressure and deliver to a high standard with a pro-active attitude and uses initiative to develop financial models and outputs.
      • The ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders in the business and within the finance function, with experience of leading on working in high value cross functional projects.
