The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our Asset Data & Insights value stream. You’ll lead the design, development and operations of high-impact applications that support data-driven Asset Management and Operations across SSE Thermal. You’ll lead by example in designing and developing scalable, secure applications across the full tech stack—from React frontends to .NET/Node.js APIs and Azure-hosted infrastructure. This role suits someone who thrives in Agile teams, is passionate about clean architecture, and enjoys mentoring others while exploring the latest cloud and development practices.

You Will

As Senior Full Stack Developer, you’ll help shape our technical direction while delivering robust and user-friendly digital products.

- Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications using React, .NET/Node.js, and Azure cloud services—ensuring scalability, performance, and accessibility.

- Contribute to application and data architecture decisions, mentoring developers and promoting best practices in code quality, security, and clean design.

- Implement secure CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to support fast, safe deployments and effective collaboration.

- Develop and optimise Azure SQL-based data models and queries, ensuring efficient and reliable data access.

- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Analysts, and UX specialists to shape user stories and deliver intuitive, business-aligned solutions.

You Have

- Proficiency in modern frontend development with React, including component architecture, state management, and responsive UI design.

- Strong backend experience in .NET (C#) and/or Node.js, building RESTful APIs and integrating with databases and third-party services.

- Solid hands-on experience with Azure SQL and data design for scalable applications.

- Familiarity with Azure cloud services and deployment architecture, with a DevOps mindset and experience in CI/CD tooling (e.g. Azure DevOps).

- Comfortable mentoring others, leading code reviews, and staying up to date with evolving web development and security best practices.
