The Role
SSEN-Transmission is delivering a significant Data Driven investment programme as part of RIIO-T3, enabling our ambition to become a data-driven leader in electricity transmission. The programme will significantly improve how data is managed, governed, shared and utilised across the business, creating trusted, integrated and automated data capabilities that support efficient network operations and growth, improved decision-making, automation and AI adoption.
Reporting to the Data Driven Programme Manager, the Senior Project Delivery Lead will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of a portfolio of strategic data initiatives that underpin our Data Strategy. The programme is based around the four pillars of that strategy: Data & AI literacy, Fit for Purpose Data Formats, Data Management and Governance, and Data Products. The role will ensure projects achieve their objectives, deliver measurable business value and are completed on time and within budget while fostering strong relationships across business, technical and supplier teams.
You will:
Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple strategic data projects across the RIIO-T3 Data Driven Programme to deliver the agreed business outcomes whilst ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, budget and quality objectives.
Identify, manage and resolve risks, issues, dependencies and delivery blockers across projects and business areas. Establish and maintain effective project governance, reporting and stakeholder communications, providing clear insight to programme leadership and governance boards.
Manage third-party suppliers and delivery partners, holding them accountable for performance, quality and value delivery.
Partner with the business and technical teams, industry stakeholders, data and product owners to shape delivery roadmaps and prioritise objectives.
Support business change, adoption and continuous improvement activities to ensure solutions deliver sustainable benefits and operational value, and alignment with strategic objectives and RIIO-T3 commitments.
You have:
Proven experience delivering data or digital projects as part of major programmes, preferably within utilities, infrastructure, engineering or regulated industries.
Experience delivering data-focused initiatives, such as data governance, master data management, data literacy, reporting, analytics, AI or enterprise data programmes.
Strong programme and project delivery expertise, including governance, financial management, planning, risk management, supplier management and benefits realisation.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to operate effectively across executive, business and technical audiences.
A strategic, outcome-focused mindset, able to translate business objectives into executable delivery plans while driving accountability, continuous improvement and measurable business value.
