Base Location: Glasgow

Salary: £58,100-£87,100(subject to experience) + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

We are seeking a Senior Contract Manager to join the Procurement & Commercial team, supporting SSE Renewables in securing and delivering a pipeline of offshore wind projects. The ideal candidate will have pre- and post-contract experience managing high-value agreements, preferably within the Renewables sector or a similar industry.

As a Senior Contract Manager, you will play a key role in shaping strategic procurement and commercial frameworks that drive SSE’s ambitious initiatives. You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, oversee complex contracts and supplier relationships, and ensure alignment with project goals and corporate objectives.

You will

Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies for renewable projects, ensuring they align with SSE’s goals and priorities.Providing procurement and commercial support to project teams, helping to resolve challenges and contribute to successful project outcomes.

Build and maintain productive relationships with suppliers to encourage collaboration, accountability, and alignment with project needs. Monitor supplier performance and address any concerns proactively.

Support contract negotiations to help secure favourable terms for SSE while managing day-to-day contractual obligations, compliance, and risk considerations.

Help identify and address procurement and commercial risks, ensuring activities follow governance and regulatory requirements.

Identify opportunities for cost improvements and value enhancement within procurement and commercial activities.

Support procurement governance efforts by ensuring processes meet SSE’s integrity, transparency, and compliance standards.

You have

Understanding of renewable markets, including development, construction, and support contracts, as well as the commodities and services critical to business operations. Capability to support the development of early-stage project business cases and oversee the progression to final account delivery across multiple contracts and models.

A Quantity Surveying Degree / Procurement qualification or equivalent direct entry to recognised appropriate professional body preferred.

Previous experience in a similar role, managing procurement processes, contracts, suppliers, and subcontractors. Strong knowledge of supplier vetting, development, and management, as well as familiarity with relevant contract conditions such as NEC and Logic.

Experience of working on complex electrical structures across the Renewables industry is desirable but not mandatory.

Experience in drafting and interpreting commercial contracts, as well as managing costs and budgets effectively
