The role

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Asset Manager to play a key role in protecting and maximising the value of SSE Renewables’ offshore wind investments.

Working across a portfolio of large-scale offshore wind assets and joint ventures, you will provide commercial oversight of operations, ensuring assets are managed efficiently, investment value is protected, and opportunities to enhance performance and revenue are identified and delivered.

You will work closely with internal teams, joint venture partners, board representatives and external stakeholders, supporting strategic decision-making and influencing long-term business planning. Acting as a commercial representative for SSE, you will help resolve complex commercial matters and ensure governance obligations are met across joint venture structures.

You will

  • Provide commercial oversight of offshore wind assets and joint ventures, ensuring assets are operated efficiently, profitably, and in line with shareholder objectives.
  • Identify and deliver value optimisation opportunities, including revenue enhancement, cost efficiencies, and operational improvements.
  • Evaluate strategic and operational decisions, challenging business plans and providing clear commercial recommendations to senior leadership, board representatives, and key stakeholders.
  • Represent SSE’s interests with JV partners, lenders, contractors, and external stakeholders, supporting negotiations and resolving complex commercial matters.
  • Prepare and present board materials, track asset performance against investment expectations, and ensure governance and policy compliance across the portfolio.

You have

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience analysing asset performance and identifying value creation opportunities.
  • Experience working with large infrastructure or energy assets, ideally within renewable energy, utilities, or energy markets.
  • Experience of joint venture structures, governance, and commercial agreements, with the ability to influence decisions across multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills, translating complex information into clear recommendations.
  • A collaborative and curious mindset, with a track record of  challenging assumptions, identifying and delivering value, and building strong relationships across organisations.
