Base Location: Flexible Scotland | We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however, need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSEN offices or depots around Scotland, Perth, Glasgow or Aberdeen.
Salary: £50,100 - £75,100 + car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

What is the Role?
SSEN Transmission have formed a joint venture with National Grid (Eastern Green Link), to deliver several mega projects which will play a critical role in achieving the UK’s net zero targets connecting low carbon electricity resources in the north of Scotland to demand centres in the south.
The Project Safety Advisor is a highly technical, competent, professional role that provides proactive and pragmatic safety advice and guidance to our EGL 2 joint venture Project teams.
You will:
Develop and enhance the existing EGL Safety Management Framework to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and JV Partner requirements and standards.
Maintain a robust governance framework for safety and health across the EGL2 project, ensuring accountability and ongoing compliance.
Develop and implement assurance processes that strengthen safety and health practices while identifying opportunities for improvement across the project.
Provide proactive guidance and support to project teams on safety and health matters, fostering a strong culture of safety and accountability.
Design and deliver safety and health awareness campaigns to ensure project teams have the knowledge and skills to work safely.
Collaborate with project teams to embed safety, health and wellbeing considerations into project planning and execution.
The role is primarily office based but with occasional travel to our worksites in Peterhead and Wren Hall.
You have
Proven safety experience on large construction projects, supported by relevant qualifications and a pragmatic, flexible and people centred approach.
Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including CDM 2015, alongside an understanding of BS EN ISO45001 and experience contributing to Safety Management Frameworks.
Experience conducting internal and/or external audits, or the capability and motivation to develop audit competence, including evidence gathering, reporting and following up actions.
The ability to work proactively with minimal supervision—using sound judgement to identify issues early, develop practical solutions, and drive them through to completion—while collaborating effectively across the business to support a highperforming, commercially aware safety culture.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, build strong internal and external relationships, analyse complex technical issues and assess risk. A graduate Occupational Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma) or equivalent experience is expected, and IOSH membership is preferred.
Due to the nature of travel associated with this role, a valid UK Driving Licence is essential.
