What is the Role?

Help shape the future of energy. At SSEN Transmission, our Graduate Engineering Programme gives you the chance to work on some of the most exciting infrastructure projects in the UK. You will help connect more renewable energy, strengthen the grid, and play a key role in achieving the UK’s Net Zero targets.

Over two years, you will gain hands-on experience, professional development and the opportunity to make a real impact from day one. As part of your application, you will select which of our engineering teams you want to join. Each offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills and contribute to the future of energy.

What do I need to Join?

You’ll need a minimum of a 2:2 bachelor’s degree in one of the disciplines listed above.

We are looking for graduates who can demonstrate a passion for the energy sector, ideally supported by some practical work experience. You should have experience working effectively in a team, be comfortable setting and achieving ambitious individual goals, and be able to use your own initiative to overcome challenges. A genuine interest in SSEN Transmission and the prospect of building a long-term career with us is also essential.

A Valid Drivers Licence would be required by September 2026.

We want you to feel confident about what happens next in our recruitment process, which has three stages: Online Testing, Video Interview, and an In-Person Assessment Centre.

- If your application meets the minimum criteria, we’ll invite you to complete an online test.

- If you’re successful, we’ll be in touch with an invitation to complete an online video interview.

- Our Hiring Managers will carefully review all video interviews, and if you make it through, we’ll contact with an invite to attend our Assessment Day.

We’ll keep you updated at every stage, and if you need any support, whether it’s technical help or adjustments to the process, please get in touch.

You can find out more about what to expect during the recruitment process here.
