The role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Payments Advisor to join our team.

This role is perfect for someone with a strong background in payment processing who thrives on problem-solving, driving process improvements, and delivering exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders. You will play a key role in ensuring payments are processed accurately and on time, resolving complex payment-related queries, and identifying opportunities to streamline and enhance our operations across the group

You will 

  • Ensure smooth, accurate payment processing – deliver reliable, timely payments while upholding compliance and care
  • Provide supportive resolution for payment queries – listen, investigate, and communicate clearly to build trust with stakeholders.
  • Maintain harmony in financial records – assist with reconciliations and month-end activities to keep everything balanced and complete.
  • Handle exceptions with care and agility – address errors and returned transactions promptly to minimize disruption.
  • Foster strong partnerships across teams – collaborate with Finance, Procurement, and Treasury for seamless operations.
  • Champion continuous improvement – identify opportunities for smarter processes, automation, and stronger controls that benefit everyone.

You have

  • Experience of working within payments including experience of dealing with BACs, CHAPs, international payments and foreign currency transactions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a methodical approach to investigating and resolving issues.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working with high volumes of numerical data.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial systems and tools.
  • Practical experience with Power BI for data modelling, reporting, and dashboard creation. (Highly desirable)
