Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office – Perth or Glasgow. 

Salary: £51,600 – £77,400 + performance related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available.

The role

SSEN Transmission is committed to delivering a secure and sustainable energy future. NESO is now a key stakeholder, and this role ensures operational delivery and compliance in our engagement with NESO. As NESO Policy Manager, you will focus on implementing policies and ensuring licence compliance, coordinating internal and external engagement to deliver key outputs, and supporting the development and roll out of communications to ensure stakeholders are informed of, and prepared for, evolving NESO requirements.

You will

- Lead the delivery of key reports, assessments and operational activities, ensuring compliance with business and regulatory requirements.

- Develop and coordinate policy positions and advocacy plans that support organisational objectives and strategic priorities.

- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting collaboration, information sharing and business readiness in response to evolving NESO requirements and policy developments.

- Coordinate cross-functional teams on policy matters, driving progress, managing risks and supporting effective decision-making.

- Deliver operational targets, identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to enhanced performance across the business.

You have

- A strong understanding of Great Britain’s energy networks and the regulatory environment in which they operate.

- Experience developing policy and building effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

- Strong communication and engagement skills, with the ability to support and deliver impactful engagement activities.

- Excellent organisational and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the confidence to interpret complex information.

- A collaborative approach, with the ability to influence and drive positive outcomes, even where you have no direct line management responsibility
