Base Location: Beatrice O&M Base Control Room, Wick, Caithness.

Salary: £40,525 - £48,427 + shift allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Shift pattern covering 7 days a week

The role

We’re looking for a Marine Coordinator to join the team supporting the Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm from our Operations & Maintenance base in Wick.

Working from the control room, you’ll play an important part in keeping offshore operations safe, coordinated and running effectively. You’ll manage vessel and helicopter activity, coordinate the movement of offshore personnel and act as the primary point of contact during emergency situations.

Alongside this, you’ll support the day-to-day operation of the wind farm, helping maintain a clear picture of activity across the site and ensuring marine and aviation operations are carried out safely and in line with relevant procedures.

It’s a role where good judgement, clear communication and staying calm under pressure really matter.

You will

  • Coordinate vessel, helicopter and personnel movements to and from the offshore wind farm, maintaining accurate records and supporting safe and efficient operations.
  • Act as a primary point of contact during emergency situations, communicating clearly with offshore personnel, vessels and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor marine activity around the wind farm, using systems including radar and AIS to maintain awareness of vessel movements and potential risks.
  • Support safe offshore operations, ensuring activities follow relevant procedures, safety requirements and operational guidance.
  • Maintain accurate operational and personnel information, while supporting the Control Room Operator with the day-to-day running of the wind farm.

You have

  • Experience or strong knowledge of marine and vessel operations, ideally gained as a Skipper, Vessel Master, Marine Engineer or within a marine coordination/control environment.
  • The ability to interpret weather and sea-state information and understand how changing conditions can affect offshore operations.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work confidently with vessels, offshore personnel and a range of operational stakeholders.
  • The ability to remain calm, organised and decisive under pressure, particularly during emergency or fast-changing situations.
  • Good computer and record-keeping skills. Experience of Safe Systems of Work, maintenance management systems or VHF radio communications would be beneficial.

Important to know

This is a site-based shift role, working as part of a small operational team covering a 7-day working pattern. You’ll need to be able to safely commute to the Beatrice O&M base in Wick for your shifts (generally within 60 minutes) and provide flexibility to support shift cover when required.
