Base location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you will be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office: Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness.
Salary: £68,100 to £102,100 + car/car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Project Manager to play a key role in developing major onshore and offshore electricity transmission projects that will support the transition to net zero and strengthen energy security as part of our Beyond 2030 plan. You will lead project teams to develop large, complex capital projects from early feasibility and option selection through planning, consenting, procurement and preparation for construction, while creating a safe and collaborative environment for multidisciplinary teams and delivery partners.
You will
- Lead multidisciplinary teams, including employees, consultants, contractors and supply chain partners, providing clear direction and encouraging effective collaboration.
- Support your project teams through the development of major onshore and offshore transmission projects from early concept and feasibility through to construction handover.
- Guide teams on site, route and technology option selection for onshore and offshore transmission projects, ensuring the preferred solution is consentable, constructable and deliverable within the agreed budget and programme.
- Oversee project programmes, budgets, risks, opportunities, procurement and governance, ensuring accurate forecasting, informed decisions and clear reporting.
- Manage key internal and external relationships to provide clear updates and escalations as required, while providing visible safety and environmental leadership throughout the project development phases.
You have
- Significant experience leading the development or delivery of large and complex capital projects, ideally within electricity transmission, generation, utilities or another major infrastructure environments.
- In-depth understanding of the project development lifecycle, including feasibility, option selection, design development, planning, consenting, procurement and construction handover.
- Demonstrable experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing several complex project workstreams or projects at the same time.
- Strong commercial and project controls experience, including procurement, contract management (ideally NEC3), budgets, programmes, risk and governance.
- Excellent communication, influencing and decision-making skills, with a strong commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibility. A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience is required; professional membership or a project management qualification would be advantageous.
