Land Manager (Offshore Wind)

Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Aberdeen, Perth Glasgow, Inverness, Reading or Havant whilst other SSER locations can be considered.

Salary: £Competitive depending on experience + car /car allowance - if applicable + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

At SSE Renewables, we're delivering some of the UK's most significant offshore wind projects. To make that happen, we need experienced Land Managers who can navigate complex land challenges, build trusted relationships and secure the rights required to keep major infrastructure projects moving forward.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of game-changing offshore wind projects. You will be working on some of the largest offshore windfarm projects currently in development and will  take ownership of the strategy to secure the onshore land rights and legal agreements needed for critical electrical infrastructure.

Working alongside consenting, engineering and project teams, you'll help unlock project opportunities, manage risk and support successful delivery from early development through to construction.

You will

• Secure and manage the full range of land rights and legal agreements required throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop land assembly strategies, valuation approaches and budget forecasts to support project delivery.
• Coordinate, review and advise on negotiations with landowners, agents and other external stakeholders, building relationships founded on trust and collaboration.
• Support Development Consent Order (DCO) processes and land-related aspects of Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) applications where required.
• Work closely with project, engineering and consenting teams, while managing external land consultants to ensure successful outcomes.

You have

• Experience securing land rights within renewables, utilities, infrastructure or major development projects and knowledge of DCO and CPO processes.
• A degree in Rural Surveying, Land Economy, Estate Management or a related discipline.
• Professional membership of RICS, CAAV or a similar body, or equivalent experience delivering major linear infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, with the ability to balance stakeholder needs with project objectives.
• A good understanding of planning, environmental constraints and land legislation affecting major infrastructure development.
