Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations Glasgow, Perth, London, Reading or Havant.

Salary: £51,600 - £77,400 + 10% performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Fixed Term Contract/Secondment -18months | Full Time | Flexible First options available

The role

We have an opportunity to join the Financial Controls Centre of Excellence for a secondment or fixed term contract of up to 18 months.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Controls you’ll play a key part ensuring Group Finance achieves its ambition of “Best in class financial control”. You’ll ensure the financial control framework keeps pace as Finance goes through a period of rapid change to a process-aligned structure; providing assurance, reporting, and insight on the effectiveness of the framework.

You’ll be responsible for a specific area of Finance, generating and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders at all levels across Finance, including Controllers, Process Leads and business unit FDs.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to hone their risk and controls expertise, expand the breadth and depth of their Finance knowledge, and play a key part in the realisation of the Finance Blueprint, our five-year strategy.

You will

- Act as a trusted advisor to first-line teams, helping them maintain robust financial controls, lead assurance cycles, and provide insightful and value-adding reporting to key stakeholders.

- Build strong relationships across the business and Finance, including Finance Directors, Controllers, Process Leads, and our external auditors.

- Champion training and upskilling initiatives to maintain a culture of control excellence and ensure the first line have the necessary skills and understanding.

- Collaborate with IT and Finance to enhance processes and integrate controls seamlessly into operations.

- Continuously evolve our financial control framework and processes to keep pace with business change and the latest thinking.

You have

- Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, ICAS, IIA or equivalent) with 3+ years PQE in a large organisation or practice.

- Strong understanding of finance processes, risk assessment, and internal control frameworks.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and comfortable influencing at senior levels with a readiness to say what’s needed.

- An analytical and commercial mindset with problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to change.

- A continuous improvement and continually curious mindset – always looking to push for better.
