The Role

SSE Renewables is expanding its construction capability across Ireland and is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Package Project Manager (CPPM) to support the successful delivery of major Onshore Wind, Solar and Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects.

You will take ownership of the Electrical Balance of Plant (eBoP) package during the construction phase, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering critical renewable infrastructure that supports Ireland's transition to a low-carbon future.

You Will

  • Drive Health, Safety & Technical Assurance: Champion a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with SSE's safety standards and industry best practice, while overseeing electrical installation activities, inspections, testing and commissioning requirements.
  • Manage Programme Controls & Governance: Monitor progress against key milestones and provide accurate reporting on schedule, risk, budget and performance, maintaining robust project controls, documentation and governance throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Administer Contracts & Commercial Performance: Manage NEC and/or FIDIC contracts, review contractor performance, oversee change control processes, manage variations and proactively mitigate commercial, programme and delivery risks.
  • Build Effective Stakeholder Relationships: Collaborate with internal project teams, contractors, consultants, landowners, regulatory authorities and local communities to support successful project delivery and maintain SSE Renewables' reputation as a trusted developer.

You Have

  • Relevant Qualifications & Technical Expertise: A degree, qualification or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline, together with experience delivering HV and LV electrical infrastructure packages.
  • Proven Project Delivery Experience: A successful track record of managing construction activities through the full project lifecycle, including planning, execution, commissioning and handover within renewable energy, utilities, transmission, distribution or major infrastructure projects.
  • Strong Safety & Regulatory Knowledge: A thorough understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements within construction environments, with a commitment to driving safe working practices and compliance.
  • Commercial & Contract Management Capability: Experience administering NEC and/or FIDIC contracts, alongside a strong understanding of project controls, risk management, change management and cost management principles.
  • Leadership & Flexibility: Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships, travel regularly and work across project sites throughout Ireland. A full, clean driving licence is required.
