Salary: £58,100 - £87,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
The purpose of this job is to coordinate the delivery of the Digital vision for Group Risk, Controls, Audit, Ethics & Financial Crime & Insurance function and ensure alignment to the vision and the Digital ambition of all Corporate Services functions in SSE. The role holder’s primary focus will be to support Group Risk, Controls, Audit, Ethics & Financial Crime & Insurance function deliver its Digital Transformation Plan. The role will also be part of a community and be expected to support other corporate functions as required in programme management and delivery, whilst delivering a range of critical enablers that span all functions.
The role holder will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the product lifecycle and product roadmap across multiple value streams leading, coordinating and executing work in line with requirements and overall strategy.
You will
Programme and Value Stream Delivery - Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of digital programmes and value streams across Group Risk, Audit, Controls, Ethics & Financial Crime & Insurance and related corporate functions. Ensure delivery is aligned with customer priorities, manages interdependencies and risks effectively, and leverages agile methodologies where appropriate.
Digital Enablement and Platform Development - Drive the development and integration of digital platforms, including Workiva, to support GRC and assurance processes. Deliver critical enablers such as data governance, common solutions, connected infrastructure, and digital culture to support transformation and operational excellence.
Governance and Performance Management - Establish and lead governance frameworks to track digital maturity and performance. Represent the function in strategic digital forums, ensure compliance and assurance controls are in place, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and innovation.
Leadership and Team Development - Provide effective line management and leadership to direct reports and delivery teams. Promote an inclusive, high-performing culture through coaching, development, and empowerment, ensuring the team is equipped to deliver value and adapt to future challenges.
You have
Proven Project and Programme Management Expertise - Demonstrable experience in leading complex digital transformation and change programmes, including managing multi-disciplinary teams and value streams. A relevant programme management qualification is essential.
Strong Stakeholder and Customer Engagement Skills - Ability to build effective relationships across a broad range of stakeholders and influence cultural change.
Technical Proficiency in GRC Platforms and Digital Tools - Hands-on experience with GRC tools (e.g. Workiva), APIs, middleware, and automation tools. Proven ability to implement and support enterprise risk, compliance, and audit management systems.
Strategic Business and Financial Acumen - Sound understanding of governance, controls, agile delivery, and budget management. Capable of aligning digital initiatives with business strategy and contributing to the direction of Corporate Services.
Exceptional Communication and Leadership Capabilities - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a track record of mentoring teams, driving performance, and fostering a high-quality, inclusive working environment.
