Base Location: Basingstoke or Reading

This role is mobile and predominantly field based, and we require your base 'home' location to be within 30 minutes from our depots listed above.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time

Salary: £29,504 to £34,757 plus:

  • Fully funded training for you to become a qualified CT engineer.
  • Overtime & travel time available.
  • 37 hour working week.

  • If based at Slough/West London this will also have a London allowance of £3,300.

We’re looking for a CT Metering Electrical Trainee Fitter to join our team in Southern England. In this role, you’ll be involved in the installation and commissioning of new three‑phase CT metering equipment, as well as carrying out fault diagnosis on three‑phase CT metering electrical systems.

You’ll be joining a small, specialist team where safety is our number one priority. We work closely together, support one another, and encourage open communication, with consultation between all team members actively promoted.

You will

  • Install, commission, maintain, replace, and remotely test 3-phase CT metering equipment.
  • Operate LV systems and carry out complex testing and inspections in line with company procedures.
  • Investigate high consumption issues, dangerous occurrences, and customer queries while working independently when required. 
  • Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring the safety of yourself and colleagues in all activities.
  • Conduct Point of Work Risk Assessments, implement hazard controls, and maintain accurate records.

You have

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical systems and safe working practices.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Comfortable working independently outdoors in all weather conditions and adapting to changing environments.
  • Quick learner with a proactive attitude towards training, teamwork, and achieving shared goals.
  • Organised, flexible, and safety-focused, with the initiative to plan effectively and deliver high-quality results.

Due to the nature of the role, there could be overnight stays required and it is essential that you have a full driving licence.
