The role

We are transforming communications across Energy Customer Solutions by establishing a centre of excellence that raises consistency, quality and impact. This role offers the opportunity to shape how we communicate with customers and to create clear, engaging content across emails, letters, brochures, service updates and other customer touchpoints.

Working closely with the Communications and Design Manager, Senior Designer and wider marketing teams, you will make sure our communications are on-brand, accessible and optimised for clarity and impact. You will

  • Manage multiple communications projects across a range of stakeholders, maintaining clear plans, priorities and timelines to support accurate, high-quality delivery.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and the design team to develop visually engaging, accessible messaging for customer journeys, campaigns, operational updates and crisis communications.
  • Create and optimise digital content for search engines and generative AI discovery, applying search engine optimisation and generative engine optimisation principles to improve visibility, relevance and customer understanding.
  • Use customer insight, performance data and appropriate tools, including AI, to improve the quality, consistency, engagement and efficiency of communications while ensuring legal, regulatory and brand requirements are met.

You have

  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to turn complex information into clear, accurate and engaging content for different audiences and channels.
  • Experience delivering customer communications or below-the-line marketing activity, ideally within a regulated, service-based or customer-focused organisation.
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills, with the confidence to advise, influence and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Excellent organisation and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, multiple projects and tight deadlines.
  • A customer-focused, creative and improvement-led approach, using insight, technology and diverse perspectives to develop better communications and experiences.
