For some of our apprentice and trainee progammes, you'll work to gain a Level 4, HNC, HND or degree qualification at university. If you have some qualifications under your belt, these opportunities could be for you.

A rewarding career starts with doing something you’re passionate about. To help you decide which area of our business might light you up, we’ve explained a little more about the different types of the apprenticeship and trainee opportunities we currently offer where qualifications are required.
Building Energy Management Services (BEMS)
You'll learn the functions of building services and produce detailed site survey reports along with recommendations to improve operational and energy efficiency.
Electrical Power Network Engineer
You'll study towards a Level 4 Apprentice Electrical Power Networks Engineer qualification and spend time with the business team learning the skills you need to be an Engineer.
Project Management
You'll get to know our business and develop practical knowledge of project management techniques, tools and methodologies, with the opportunity to work on exciting projects.
Construction Management
As a site construction management apprentice you will organise work on our project sites, making sure all tasks are completed safely, on time and within budget. You'll liaise with contractors, surveyors and builders to ensure a project is on track.
Quantity Surveyor
You'll develop technical, legal, analytical and evaluation skills in contractual frameworks. Work will involve costing projects and enhancing value for money, while still achieving the required client expectations, standards, and quality.
IT & Digital
There are many opportunities to develop a rewarding career within our digital and technology teams. You'll gain hands-on experience and learn how we use technology to support the business, customers and stakeholders.

Why I joined SSE Thermal to become a Lab Chemist Apprentice
Kamil works in one of SSE Thermal's power stations, using a wide range of chemistry equipment to conduct analysis and make sure that the power station is working efficiently and is a reliable source of energy for the national grid.
