We have every kind of background, people who are environmental scientists, historians, mathematicians and people who have just worked through the business. There's a great teamwork culture, everybody is very conscientious, they look out for each other, they're all driving to deliver good results and success."

She's since progressed to become a financial analyst in renewable operations, into gas storage as a trader, then into EMC as a gas trader and is about to begin a new role as a power trader.
Abi joined SSE through our internship scheme with a geography degree.
She worked with E&P as a business analyst, a year and a half later joined the EMC where she has now been for four years, initially trading gas and then onto the power trading desk.
