Successful projects need more than great ideas. They need people who can bring teams together, manage complexity and keep momentum moving towards a shared goal. Our Project Management Graduate Programme is designed to help you build these skills while developing a broad understanding of how projects are delivered across a large and complex electricity company.
Over two years, you'll gain experience across different project environments and business areas, building your commercial awareness, leadership capability and understanding of project delivery. You'll learn how projects progress from concept to completion, developing the confidence to make informed decisions, manage competing priorities and contribute to successful outcomes.
Alongside practical experience, you'll benefit from structured development opportunities, mentoring and support from experienced project professionals. By building relationships across the business and learning from a diverse range of projects, you'll develop the foundations for a long term career in project management and be well placed to take the next step into an Assistant Project Manager role on completion of the programme.
At SSE, we are currently working on several high-profile projects which are ensuring we can provide sustainable and reliable energy to all. To achieve our clean energy ambitions, we are seeking graduates who are eager to gain the knowledge and experience needed to work towards a Project Manager role. You will need the drive to become a project management professional ultimately leading on major infrastructure projects.
You could be working with our engineers on the selection of appropriate technologies to meet project requirements, coordination of key surveys & studies, coordinating initial design works, acquisition of land rights & wayleaves and submission of Planning Applications. Or you could be working with our business development teams, focusing on new innovations and projects.
