Technical Services Technician

Salary: £43,704- £51,484 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full time

The role

As a Technical Services Technician, you will join a team of highly skilled colleagues to help deliver our capital delivery programme on our Transmission network, and the maintenance of existing protection and control systems.  This is a pivotal role within the business, ensuring we build and maintain the highest standard of network for our customers.

You will

  • Support a team of Protection and SCADA Field Engineers to manage the inspection, maintenance and commissioning of a substation equipment
  • Complete protection and control wiring and modification works, including delivery of small inhouse substation refurbishment projects associated to Protection, Control and SCADA systems
  • Conduct basic protection testing and maintenance, conduct multicore cabling and panel steelwork modifications
  • Maintain protection stores and arrange calibration of test equipment

 

You have

  • A technical qualification to City & Guilds/SVQ level
  • Previous experience and technical knowledge as an electrician working in an industrial environment, ideally with substation experience
  • Sound understanding of reading and interpreting schematic and wiring diagrams, with experience of carrying out testing and fault-finding on secondary wiring and auxiliary equipment
  • A full UK driving licence

Due to the 24/7 nature of our networks, you may be required to work away from your base location on occasion and assist in a variety of ad hoc activities. Standby on occasion may be required to cater for outage works.
