The role
SSE Facilities Management department is looking to recruit a Mobile Maintenance Operative for Thatcham, Berkshire to provide a service to the Company’s corporate sites in respect of maintenance/service/repairs and installation of a variety of basic building services. You must be able to demonstrate previous handyman/maintenance experience, be able to achieve the highest level of customer service, work under pressure, possess a flexible approach and be prepared to travel. Have basic functional knowledge of Air Handling Units, Air Conditioning systems, Generators, Boilers, UPS systems and Fire alarms.
You will
Undertake basic maintenance repairs, installation or servicing work as detailed by the FM Maintenance Supervisor/FM Maintenance & Technical Manager.
Assist with more complex tasks coordinated by team tradespeople/FM Maintenance Supervisor.
Observe and comply with all working practices and ensure compliance with the appropriate SHE statutory requirements at all times.
Carry out multi skilled activities within the Facilities Management remit.
Participate in the Company's out of hours emergency standby rota as required.
You have
Previous experience delivering handyman/maintenance related tasks in a commercial/light industrial environment.
The ability to learn/adhere to new processes.
Ability to support and contribute to M&E and building fabric maintenance.
Good decision maker and ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
This role will require travel between sites therefore a flexible approach and full driving license is essential.
