The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join the Thermal Financial Control team based in Glasgow/Perth. Reporting directly into the Thermal Financial Controller, you will manage a team with responsibility for the accurate and timely execution of all aspects of general accounting, period end closing and statutory reporting activities for Thermal.
You will
Manage and develop a team of finance professionals, supporting their growth and ensuring delivery of high-quality outputs.
Manage the end-to-end month-end close process for Thermal including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
Manage year end and half year process including the preparation and audit of the statutory accounts and the preparation of the group disclosures for Thermal.
Ensure compliance with Group financial control policies, including review of reconciliations, provisions, and risk and control matrices (RACMs).
Respond to ad hoc business requests and finance queries, collaborating with stakeholders across the business & driving process improvements, automation, and greater efficiency across processes and controls.
You have
A recognised professional accounting qualification (ICAS, ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with solid experience and a deep working knowledge of IFRS and FRS 101 reporting standards.
Proven management experience, with the ability to manage, coach, and develop high-performing teams. You’ll have experience delegating effectively, overseeing complex workflows, and guiding your team through change with empathy and focus.
Strong financial control experience, with a sharp attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of period-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, and audit preparation.
Hands-on experience in statutory reporting and audit processes, with a track record of successfully delivering year-end accounts and working closely with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with senior stakeholders, business partners, and cross-functional teams to support decisions and improvements.
